sayo's approach to found or recycled materials is one of care - especially towards objects that are fragile and/or overlooked. her previous fixations include: dead cockroaches, shedded dog fur, mandarin peels and recycled cardboard. due to the fragility of such materials, her work often involves a fix and rebuild process that stems from an indescribable loyalty towards the object. however the accumulations, collections and constructions she has made this year (2022) manifests from a place of truth so genuine that she is yet to fully understand it herself…
